Formal consultation
The Council, along with members of the
Tenants Consultation Group and Tenants and Residents’ Association
Forum reviewed the consultation structure and decided that only one
formal consultation body was needed. They agreed that a name change
to Tenants and Leaseholders Consultation Forum, would clarify the
role of the Forum as a formal consultative body, which works in
partnership with the Council to influence decisions on housing
services.
It concluded its review by agreeing
that every Thanet District Council tenant and leaseholder should
have the opportunity to become a member of the Forum. They
developed an Election Process and Residents Election Pack to
address the balance between residents’ associations and individual
tenants and leaseholders who want to get involved by way of an
election every three years.
