Shepway Tenants and Leaseholders
Board (STLB)
Who are the
STLB?
The Shepway Tenants and
Leaseholders Board (STLB) were formed in 1992 and are a group of
council (now East Kent Housing) tenants and leaseholders.
Members of the STLB are
elected by a postal ballot of all East Kent Housing tenants and
leaseholders in Shepway. Members serve a term of between 1 and 3
years on the board.
The STLB are a non-political
group that represents the views and interests of tenants and
leaseholders across the district.
What does the STLB
do?
The Shepway Tenants and
Leaseholders Board works in partnership with East Kent Housing on
issues that affect our homes and estates.
Board members receive
regular training to make sure that they have the skills to work
effectively with housing staff on behalf of the tenants and
leaseholders they represent.
The STLB meet once a month
with East Kent Housing (Shepway) staff and the Cabinet Member
for Housing.
The board holds an Annual
General Meeting every April, and all Shepway tenants and
leaseholders are invited to attend this meeting.
Shepway Area Board
In addition to meeting monthly with
staff, the STLB meets four times a year 'as' an Area Board, with
the addition of two local councillors.
The Shepway Area
Board's job is to make sure that East Kent Housing's services
are well tailored to the needs of Shepway tenants and
leaseholders. It also considers local performance issues and
any instances of repeated complaint.
