Dover District in Bloom Competition
It’s that time again when all you budding
gardeners can show your gardens and hanging baskets off with pride
– and get a prize for doing it!
East Kent Housing has teamed up again with our
sponsors Veolia Water to offer a range of prizes including vouchers
and water butts.
Last year tenants who live in properties with
communal gardens asked that there be a category for them to
enter. This year, for the first time, we have six categories
for you to enter including best communal garden.
The categories
are:
- 1. Best front
garden
2. Best back garden
3. Best original feature in a garden
4. Best vegetable patch
5. Best window box/hanging basket display (including balcony
gardens)
6. Best Communal Garden.
There is a prize for each category and the
judges will be looking for things like:
- good overall gardening scheme
- innovative ideas
- use of environmental elements
- well kept lawns.
Judges will visit your gardens in July and the
winners will be invited to a prize ceremony at the Dover District
Council Offices in Whitfield.
