Leaseholder Forum
What is it?
We have for some time been seeking to
strengthen our relationship with our leaseholders, who pay us
service charges and ground rent. We also want to improve our
services to leaseholders. To help us to do this we set up the
Leaseholder Forum.
The Forum held its first meeting in
July 2007 following an article in Tenant News and Views. One
of the first tasks the Forum tackled was to work with us to produce
a comprehensive three-part leaseholder handbook.
This handbook was launched at a very successful event at Canterbury
High School in June 2009.
What did it do in 2010?
The Forum continued to work on
leaseholder issues. It helped us to keep the handbook up
to date and also produced supplementary information for
leaseholders.
At a recent Forum meeting guest
speakers from the council’s insurance section and assets management
team spoke about their work and answered members’ questions.
Following on from this, they produced a Frequently
Asked Questions page for the council's website, (this link
will take you back to the Canterbury City Council website).
