How to report a repair

 

If you have a council house repair to report in Canterbury please:

  • Call Mears on 0800 3134 740. This is a free phone number and the call is only free from a landline. Calls from mobiles may be charged by your network provider. It may be cheaper to call Mears on 01227 714 500 from your mobile.

 

Remember:

When requesting a repair, please give as much information as possible to help prioritise the work correctly and get somebody out to you as quickly as possible. If you have any specific access arrangements please be sure to mention these.

 

Please check your tenancy agreement to ensure you are not responsible for the repair: Check the tenancy agreement

 

What repairs can Mears do? 

 

Mears are responsible for:

  • Day-to-day repairs

  • Voids (bringing properties that tenants have moved out of up to a good standard before new tenants move in)

    Minor aids and adaptations (following a referral from an Occupational Therapist)

  • External repairs and redecorations
  • Lift maintenance and servicing

  • Building cleaning

 

You can also expect:
  • A two-hour appointment system

 

Heating repairs

Swale Heating carry out our gas servicing and maintenance.
