This page explains the different ways you can choose to pay your
rent. If you have any questions or concerns about your rent
account, please get in touch.
How and where to pay

All of our tenants are issued with a plastic payment card.
If yours has been lost or damaged, please contact us on
01227 862142.
Online
Make a payment online
(this link will take you back to the Canterbury City Council
website).
You will need to have your 16-digit tenancy reference number
ready (on the bottom right of your plastic payment card).
Over the phone (automated)
0845 200 1784 for credit/debit card
payments.
Follow the recorded instructions (you will need the
19-digit number across the middle of your plastic payment
card).

Pay by calling our Income Recovery team (you will need your
debit or credit card to hand).
Set up a Direct Debit

This is the most convenient and reliable way of paying your
rent. Regular
monthly payments will be collected directly from your bank
account.

At the Post Office or PayPoint outlet (local
shop)

For payments by cash or cheque.
Some PayPoint outlets may allow you to pay by credit/debit card
- please ask for details at your local outlet (be aware that some
outlets may charge for this).
Ensure you take your plastic payment card with you and your
cash/cheque.
