What do you do?

I am retired from work; however, I am kept very busy doing volunteer work for several local and national charities and organisations, as a volunteer driver, dog walker, assistant ranger, countryside access warden and helping in the Dover library.

Why did you want to be part of the Board for East Kent Housing?

Everyone needs a decent home and I feel that social housing should lead the way. I want to play a part in ensuring that provision of social housing meets the high standards which have been set for East Kent Housing. By being on the board, I hope to influence the shape of the provision of social housing in East Kent.

What do you hope East Kent Housing will offer tenants and leaseholders?

I want to see the council housing services in East Kent to be the best that can be offered, leading the way in innovation and delivery.

What do you do for fun?

I enjoy my life in general, and try to get fun out of everything I do. One of the advantages of Volunteer work is that you only need do the things that you enjoy; however, I love walking my dog in the countryside around Dover, and when it’s dark and wet outside, I have fun writing programs on my computer.

Where is your favourite place in East Kent?

Without doubt, it’s High Meadow in Dover. From there you have a fantastic view of the castle, can see the harbour and sea between the hills, and have all of Dover spread out before you.
