Meeting on Monday 27 June at the Thanington Resource Centre:

We asked Gwen Boyce, who chaired the first meeting, what she thought of it.

"I felt proud to chair the first Area Board meeting," she said.  "Like many of our members, I have been involved in the setting up of East Kent Housing for a long time now, and I know that these boards will play a key role in improving services for local people.

At the meeting, we covered a range of subjects including new policies on equalities and complaints, performance over the last year and plans for the future.  Tenant Board Members came along well prepared, asking probing questions and making very constructive suggestions.

I look forward to many more meetings and I hope, too, that more of you will come along to meetings to see what we do and to make sure that we champion tenants' views in all aspects of the housing management service."
